Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall

The construction of Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall began in 1903. It was completed the following year. The building, situated to the east of Vimanmek Mansion, was to serve as the throne hall for Dusit Palace. Between the two structures is Rong Maihom (Groove of Fragrant Wood ) Canal.

Abhisek Dusit is a one- storey building decorated with intricate fretwork known as the "floral design" design, colored glass and stucco motifs on the gable give the building its distinctive feature and beauty reminiscent of Moorish style.

His Majesty the King granted H.M. Queen Sirikit permission to restore the building for use as a museum, displaying arts and crafts producted by members of the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques ( SUPPORT ) that she had set up. Their Majesties came to preside over the opening ceremony on January 20,1993.
